This coming summer Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas is
repositioning to Miami to add some freshness and excitement to the standard three-
and four-night Bahamas itinerary!
However, before arriving in the sunshine
state, Mariner will undergo a $90 million overhaul adding features that will
make this ship a “must” for anyone looking for a quick getaway!
Here’s some fun, new experiences being added:
- Sky Pad: Made up of four trampolines, guests first don virtual reality headsets and a bungee harness to bounce around the moon, be transported to another time and planet, or compete in intergalactic games. Sky Pad may also be enjoyed without virtual reality headsets, for those who prefer to look out over the ocean as they leap toward the sky. This out-of-this-world experience is for guests of all ages!
- Cyclone and Typhoon: Two new water slides are planned for Mariner, to be called Cyclone and Typhoon. They'll spiral around the back of the ship near the new FlowRider surfing pool and Mariner's existing rock-climbing wall.
- Laser Tag: A glow-in-the-dark laser tag experience set in a far-flung galaxy, in which two forces are set to face off for control of the last planet for light years around! Lots of ships are adding laser tag because it’s such great fun family!
- Puzzle Break: The Observatorium : An escape room experience in which guests are presented with a series of challenges they must solve within a certain amount of time. You don’t need to have any special knowledge to solve the puzzles. Just be creative, curious and willing to have a good time!
As for food & drink:
- The Bamboo Room, a tiki bar.
- Jamie's Italian, The new Jamie Oliver restaurant.
- Izumi Hibachi & Sushi
- Starbucks
Mariner's first voyage after the overhaul will begin on June
25. Her itinerary will feature stops in Nassau and CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s
private island destination.
