Welcome back Norwegian Sky

So all of us wondered what would become of the NCL Pride of Aloha? Well, now we know. Norwegian Cruise Line announced yesterday that the Pride of Aloha would be re-flagged and renamed back to the original Norwegian Sky. In case you didn’t know, the Pride of Aloha was actually once the Norwegian Sky, but then it was re-flagged and renamed the Pride of Aloha. Well, now Norwegian Cruise Line is simply reversing the process and going back to the original Norwegian Sky. It works for me.

The Norwegian Sky will offer 3 & 4-day Bahamas cruises round-trip from Miami, Florida beginning July 14, 2008.

The original Norwegian Sky was launched in 1999 and featured more than 240 balcony staterooms, 6 different restaurants, 10 bars and lounges, two pools, children’s center, and sports deck. The ship will enter dry dock and receive all of the new freestyle 2.0 enhancements; with product and hardware upgrades such as adding back a casino.

To help celebrate the re-introduction of the Norwegian Sky, NCL is offering a “Kids Sail Free Summer Vacation” promotion. Reservations must take place from May 6 through May 31, 2008 for sailings taking place from July 14, 2008 through September 26, 2008. Children ages six months to 17 years are eligible to sail free excluding government taxes and fees and fuel surcharges.
