NCL Debuts Nickelodeon at Sea

"The smiles and laughs were contagious aboard the Norwegian Jewel, which left from New York City this past week, as the cruise line debuted Nickelodeon at Sea!  Among the VIP passengers sited on deck were Dora the Explorer, her cousin Diego, SpongeBob and of course his best friend, Patrick. Nickelodeon at Sea offers the ultimate in family entertainment by offering a schedule of different activities throughout the week that the entire family can participate in.

What child wouldn’t want to share the first meal of the day with their favorite Nick buddies!  The Nickelodeon character breakfast will surely be the “hottest ticket” at sea! There will be time to eat, play, and snap pictures galore.   Thank goodness you can reserve a spot for your family 45 days prior to sailing (and I definitely recommend you doing so to avoid disappointment)!  There is an additional charge of $10 for kids 4-12 and $15 for adults. It’s free for the 3 and under crowd (and rightly so since those are the ones that will probably run away and cry when approached by a 6 foot yellow sponge)!

During the week there will be scheduled pool games and crazy activities your family won’t want to miss!  Nobody knows how to have fun in the sun better than Nickelodeon! Then spend an evening watching two lucky families compete in Nickelodeon’s signature game show “Slime Time Live.” Maybe it will be your family! I’m trying to remember; do you get slimed if you win or slimed if you lose? Does it matter? Probably not!

Little ones will want to get down and boogie at Dora’s Music Party where they can sing and dance along side the little explorer and the Nickelodeon cast. You’ll definitely want to have a video camera handy for that…you’re family will be making memories you’ll want to be able to share once you’re back home. Want to keep the excitement down a notch?  Nickelodeon story time and the themed arts and crafts are scheduled several times during the week.

One thing to remember is that Nickelodeon at Sea is an enhancement to the regular family activities you can always find on an NCL ship.  They are scheduled activities; an hour here and there and is available year round on all sailings of the Norwegian Jewel and Norwegian Epic. If you wanted to cruise aboard the Norwegian Jewel yet avoid all the Nick activities it is not hard to do so!  But wait, you say your family wants more?  More craziness…more excitement …more slime!!!   Does your family want to take the Nickelodeon experience to the extreme?  Then Nickelodeon at Sea- All Access is what you’re looking for!

All Access has everything the regular Nickelodeon at Sea has…and so much more!  These are cruises for families that want to be totally immersed in the Nickelodeon experience! Each cruise will have more than 15 of your favorite characters available for priceless photo ops.  Character breakfasts are offered every morning, and for no additional charge! Guests will also have access to live stars from some of Nickelodeon’s TV shows including “meet and greets.”

All Access cruises are very special cruises with lots of elite opportunities you can’t find anywhere else. The sail away party, a fun event on every ship, will be like nothing else your family has ever been a part of!  And imagine being able to see exclusive movie premiers and new episodes of hit TV shows before anyone else on land!    Each day is full of action packed activities and interactive game shows for families to participate in.  One show that is sure to generate lots of excitement is the “Live SpongeBob Show”!  But I’ve saved the very best bonus for last (and let me qualify this by saying you will only appreciate this if you are true blue Nickelodeon aficionado).  Every family onboard will have the opportunity to be slimed if they would like to be!  Imagine sharing pictures of that with the folks back home!

The inaugural “Nickelodeon All Access Cruise” on board Norwegian Jewel sets sail on February 20, 2011, with a round-trip seven-day itinerary from New York sailing to Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida; Nassau, Bahamas; and Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian’s private island.  That’s winter recess week for many Northeast school districts so I’m sure it will sell out quickly! Norwegian Epic’s “Nickelodeon All Access Cruise” departs on July 24, 2011, from Barcelona on a seven-day Western Mediterranean cruise to Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Rome (Civitavecchia), and Naples, Italy; and Palma, Majorca, Spain.
