Royal Caribbean Modifies the Crown & Anchor Balcony Discount

Beginning September 1, changes go into effect for members of Royal
Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Loyalty Club. Members will no longer be offered a discount on balcony cabins or suites if booking a cruise within six months of the sail date.

However, for top-tier Pinnacle members only, the balcony & suite discounts will increase by $25 and be updated to $175 for 3 – 5 night sailings, $275 for 6 – 9 nights, and $375 for 10+ nights starting on August 15, 2016.

Platinum and higher-level members will still receive a discount if booked outside of the 6 months, but purchasing an upgrade within six month.

For Royal Caribbean “Decide Later” bookings made outside of the 6 months, but decide on the cruise within 6 months of sailing, the discount will be honored.

As for the reason for the change, RoyalCaribbean has stated, "We've found that a large majority of our Crown & Anchor guests reserve outside of the 6 month window. For those who do not, we've noticed that, due to the lack of promotional combinability, it's more beneficial for our guests to take advantage of other promotions offered”.
