“Beauty and the Beast” is my favorite Disney movie…the
music, the romance, the predominant theme of “beauty is only skin deep”, makes for
such a great story! I am not even ashamed to admit that I am anxiously awaiting
the new live-action adaptation of the animated classic that premieres in movie theaters
this March, (even though I have no young child or grandchild to bring along). Now,
if I could only convince my husband that our next cruise should be aboard the
Disney Dream next fall, when Disney Cruise Line debuts its brand new musical
production of the same name!
Drawing inspiration from the newer film, the stage production
uses the scenic motif of a music box to lead the audience through the story. Combining
high-definition projections, dynamic scenery and of course, a sizable amount of
Disney magic, this new production will create a visual panorama that reaches
beyond the stage and into the audience. The new onboard musical will feature
songs from the original animated film’s award-winning soundtrack as well as two
new songs created for the live-action film. It all sounds absolutely enchanting
to me!
“Beauty and the Beast” will debut on the Disney Dream voyage
departing Nov. 6, 2017. The ship sails three- and four-night cruises to the
Bahamas from Port Canaveral, Fla.
