Our Favorite Things About the Norwegian Bliss

It was a great weekend for the staff of Direct Line Cruises because it was spent on the beautiful Norwegian Bliss.  The Bliss is a Breakaway Plus class ship, and a sister ship to the Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Escape (one of my absolute favorite ships).  There’s so much to gush about, I could go on and on. There is NOTHING we didn’t like! However, due to space, let me share some of our favorite things:

“Jersey Boys.” I kid you not when I say that our staff thought this show was better than the Broadway version!  Really! If you’re not familiar with this show (is that even possible?) it tells the story of '60s rock band Franki Valli and the Four Seasons. Really interesting story about the bands history and the music will never get old. I bet you still know all the words to "Oh What a Night," “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” "Walk Like a Man," and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”

Go-Carts The competitive two-level electric car race track sits at the top of the ship. Well we certainly proved that this activity is NOT for kids only! It was so much fun! With four speed settings accommodating novice, intermediate and advanced drivers, (reaching up to 30 miles per hour) everyone will want to try this!

Observation Lounge Located at the top front of the ship this lovely room offers 180-degree views that are meant to be enjoyed from the comfort of a lounge setting. Grab a lite bite during the day or head up for a drink at sunset. And don’t forget, this ship is heading to Alaska so you can just imagine how incredible it will be to sit up here and take in the sights.

The Cavern Club Inspired by the Liverpool club where the Beatles performed, the show here was wonderful! Future guests can expect nightly performances by Beatles cover bands.

The Haven Like other Norwegian ships, the Bliss‘ ship-within-a-ship Haven area made us drool! But no other ship in the fleet offers what this version of The Haven does: exclusive access to a two-story, forward-facing observation lounge (a more intimate and private version of the above mentioned Observation lounge)!

In 2018 the Norwegian Bliss will spend summers sailing to Alaska out of Seattle, with seven-night trips to Ketchikan; Juneau; Skagway; and Victoria, B.C. She will then move to Miami to spend winters sailings the Eastern Caribbean.
