One stop sure to be very popular is an interactive booth where people can digitally record their own karaoke performance and then go online to view it and share it with friends. Another area will feature a sand sculpture of the Carnival Pride created by an award winning sand sculptor. No party would be complete without live music, so get down and boogie to live performances by the singers and dancers of the Carnival Cruise ships. Hip-hop and acrobatic performance groups will put on shows throughout the day. Of course there will plenty for children to do. The Camp Carnival Kid Zone will feature face painting, arts and crafts, and an area for water balloon games. An interactive aquarium has been constructed (they’ve been set up in several cities across the country), where a computer animated undersea world is able to react to the motion of pedestrians walking by. Via a cell phone, people can create their own personalized fish! Some of the more unusual attractions you won’t want to miss are the Guinness World Record beach ball and the 3-D chalk art! On top of all this fun, this event will also help raise funds for the Maryland Special Olympics.
The Carnival Pride will operate a mix of six, seven and eight day cruises from April 27 through September 6, 2009 then begin a year round seven day cruise departing ever Sunday. The ship will alternate between an exotic Eastern Caribbean itinerary and a Bahamas/Florida itinerary. Don’t let it sail without you!
