Just when it seemed that Cuba was becoming “the”
Caribbean cruise destination of 2017, the threat of the reversal of U.S. policy regarding
Cuba tourism hung over the cruise lines until the President’s announcement this
past Friday.
However, based on the information that was publicized, it
seems that
Caribbean cruises to Cuba will continue under the new restricted guidelines
laid out by the Administration. From the start, the cruise lines made sure that
all cruises to, and shore excursions in Cuba were in full compliance with
regulations set forth by the US Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign
Assets Control ("OFAC"). What is uncertain at this point is if U.S.
citizens can disembark their ship and tour with independent Cuban tour guides
