A theme cruise can be a bit tacky (I shudder at the thought
of an Elvis cruise filled with a ship of hip-gyrating impersonators of the
“king”) or it can be tasteful (maybe a week dedicated to outer space that
doesn’t involve dressing up like r2d2). For the latter experience look no
further than Cunard’s unique event cruises.
Here’s a small sample of what Cunard has planned for 2019
and 2020:
Big Band Ball voyages:
Saxophones, trumpets, trombones…music that calls for you to dance the
night away. This is the cruise to strut your stuff!
Voyage du Vin: This voyage takes guests to the shores of
Spain, France, and Italy, to explore some of the best, old world wine regions. It
features an array of expertise from the world of fine wine with the opportunity
for a hands-on introduction to the world of wine and spirits.
World Space Week: In addition to new space shows in
Illuminations, the world's only Planetarium at Sea, acclaimed space experts
including astronauts, scientists and Royal Astronomical Society members will be
onboard to present and discuss all aspects of space and its exploration.
Literature Festival at Sea: In association with Cheltenham
Literature Festival and The Times and The Sunday Times, this exclusive voyage
offers booklovers an opportunity to join some of the best-loved authors and
journalists for readings, discussions, workshops and more.
Transatlantic Fashion Week: Fashion shows, fashion experts,
fashion greats…it’s a celebration of the world of fashion!
Featuring exclusive speakers, activities and events on
board, these Cunard event cruises promise to be insightful and thought-provoking. From
fashion and literature to dance and music, each sailing offers a deeper insight
into diverse and exciting themes.
